Megyn Kelly Claps Back at MAGA Host: 'Not Strong Enough' for 'The View'
Megyn Kelly took a swipe at The View's conservative guest host on Tuesday, calling her 'too weak' to handle the show's dynamic panel. This came after Hasselbeck, a former Fox News colleague and Trump supporter, criticized Kelly's comments about American troops in Kuwait and Trump's Iran attacks.
"No one cares what this know-it-all has to say," Kelly snapped back, addressing Hasselbeck's remarks. "How dare you, Megyn Kelly?" Hasselbeck had exclaimed, taking issue with Kelly's statement that American troops died for Iran or Israel, not the United States. She further questioned Kelly's right to judge military personnel who have sacrificed for the nation.
"I'm not afraid of her," Hasselbeck stated, despite Joy Behar's warning about Kelly's reputation for fiery debates. Kelly responded, "Elisabeth was too weak to handle the ladies of The View and even the morning set on Fox and Friends." Hasselbeck's dismissal from the daytime talk show in 2013, following on-air clashes with left-leaning co-hosts, and her subsequent role on Fox and Friends, where she and Kelly worked together, were referenced by Kelly.
"She ran from the public square into exile to avoid criticism," Kelly continued, implying Hasselbeck's departure from the spotlight. "Now she thinks she can come back for a day and dictate the conversation about our war in Iran?" Kelly's comments came as The View delved into Trump's Iran attacks, with Hasselbeck's second day as a guest host, and permanent panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin on maternity leave.
Despite her public criticisms of The View since her departure in 2013, Hasselbeck has maintained a positive demeanor during her guest hosting, choosing to engage in a public dispute with Kelly. This contrast in behavior has sparked curiosity and debate among viewers, leaving them to ponder the underlying motivations and the potential impact on the show's dynamics.
